| Production method | The newly prepared cerium hydroxide (Ⅳ) is dissolved in sulfuric acid and reduced with hydrogen peroxide to obtain cerium sulfate. 100g (NH4)2Ce(NO3)6 was added to 500~600mL of water, heated in a water bath to dissolve it, and filtered to remove insoluble matter. Under the condition of heating, 110~130mL of concentrated ammonia water (relative density 0 91) is added to the filtrate until Ce(OH)4 is completely precipitated. Place the precipitate in a Brinell funnel and wash it repeatedly with hot water until the eluent is completely free of NO-3 ions (tested with diphenylamine). Place the washed precipitate in a beaker, add 500 ~ 550mL 20% H2SO4 under heating, and stir to dissolve the precipitate completely. At this time, the obtained solution is yellow. Slowly add 20 ~ 22mL 30% of H2O2 solution to the solution under continuous stirring until the color of the solution is completely removed. Heat to remove excess H2O2. After filtering the solution, the filtrate is evaporated and concentrated in a water bath at a temperature not exceeding 55°C, until a large amount of crystals appear (the volume of the solution is 80-100mL) for cooling. The crystals are drained and washed twice with ethanol, and finally dried at room temperature. |
